Sygmunt SCHRETER (1896-1977)

Sygmunt Schreter est né en 1896 à Łódź. Il étudie à Berlin auprès de L. Corinth. En 1932, il s'installe à Paris et fréquente le cercle d'artistes de Moses Kisling.

Schreter expose au Salon de Paris et organise également des expositions personnelles en Pologne, aux États-Unis, à Jérusalem et en Suisse.

Sa peinture s'inscrit dans le courant post-impressionniste. Il peint principalement des paysages du sud de la France et d'Espagne.

Sygmunt Schreter was born in 1896 in Lodz. He studied in Berlin under the direction of L. Corinth. In 1932 he settled in Paris and remained there in a circle of artists Moses Kisling. Schreter exhibited at the Paris Salon and also had solo exhibitions in Poland, USA, Jerusalem, Switzerland. The artist's painting is included in the mainstream of post-Impressionist. He painted landscapes of the south of France and Spain.
